Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father taught at school, and her mom was a domestic worker. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. McCormick was a gifted singer and performer from the age of 6. She put on shows with puppets for the neighbors. Following her win in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 year old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see if McCormick wanted to get involved in the industry of entertainment. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964, when she appeared in a TV commercial for Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. The following year she appeared in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was shortly cast in the musical The Wind It Up And It breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1200 auditioning children to play the older of three two-headed daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) with Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The five-year run of The Brady Bunch was an enormous successful one. McCormick said in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly lost her virginity during the fifth season of the show to Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother.
